Over the past year and a half, Snowbird Advisor has received ongoing feedback from some of our members related to the evolving environment for travel to the United States, including requests for us to share our position on this issue.

In light of this feedback, we would like to clarify our position and reiterate our core mission to our loyal members:

First and foremost, like all Canadians, our team at Snowbird Advisor is deeply concerned about the current economic and political tensions between the United States and Canada and the strain they have placed on the longstanding friendship between our two countries, and we are hopeful that these tensions will ease in time.

We also understand that this has been a polarizing and emotional issue for many snowbirds, but want to be clear that we respect the views and opinions of all snowbirds – both those who prefer to spend their winters in international destinations, as well as those who plan to winter in the U.S.

We ask that you please understand that Snowbird Advisor is not an advocacy group or a political organization – we are an information resource dedicated to providing valuable tips, tools, information and services for all snowbirds, regardless of where they choose to travel or spend their winters.

Accordingly, our plan going forward is to continue to serve snowbirds as follows:

• Expand our coverage of international destinations. While we have always provided some coverage of international destinations, in the coming months we will be providing additional resources for snowbirds who wish to explore international destinations, including Mexico, Southern Europe, Central America, the Caribbean and beyond.
  
  AND
• Continue our coverage of the U.S. for snowbirds who choose to spend their winters in the United States, many of whom have deep, personal ties to the U.S. that go beyond the current political and economic tensions.

Once again, we appreciate that the current environment has been polarizing, but our mission has always been and will continue to be to serve all snowbirds in a helpful and respectful manner.
